Even as Francis’s plane landed at the Moscow Airport, he could hardly believe it was true. He was never very lucky, so winning a free trip to Russia was quite the shock. Francis knew only a little Russian, but figured that the friendly people in Russia would help him get by. What was the worst that could happen?
Francis was not off to a great start. While on the plane, he caught the eye of a gruff, mean looking Russian man wearing a jogging suit. Figuring that this would be a good opportunity to practice his Russian and try to be friendly to the man, Francis tried to offer a greeting in Russian. The Russian man looked enraged and began mean-mugging Francis. Confused, Francis looked at his book to see what he said. Uh-oh, Francis thought. As it turns out, Francis accidentally told the tough Russian man that his mother was a dog.
After making it off the plane, Francis noticed that the man, and a group of his thugs, started following him. Terrified, Francis began to run. As he turned a corner, a pair of hands grabbed his collar and Francis was pulled into a nearby shop just as the thugs turned the same corner. Luckily, they ran past Francis.
As Francis opened his eyes, he was stunned. The mysterious stranger who saved him from the thugs was a beautiful woman with golden hair and piercing green eyes. Before he could think or say anything to her, she put her finger to her mouth and shushed him. Quickly, she grabbed his wrist and dropped a piece of paper into his hand. Before he knew it, the woman disappeared into the back of the shop and was gone.
On the note is written what looks like an address – in Russian. Some other Russian words are scribbled under the address with a "#5". He would have to decipher this note another time. Right now, Francis feels that he is still in danger. Time to find some transportation….
