DAY 6 : TIME IN RUSSIA
Numbers from 12 to 24 can be used to tell time in the afternoon, amount of minutes you have to wait or amount of kilometers you are over speed limit.
Russian Numbers From 10 to 19
Russian 10 is a distant cousin of word "decimal" and sounds like [des-ya-t']. The rest can be memorized using structure: one above ten - [odin - nad -tsat'] where odin=1, nad=above, tsa-t' = represents 10.
10 - десять (m) - [des-yat'] - ten
11 - одиннадцать (m) - [odin-nad-tsat'] - eleven
12 - двенадцать- [dv-ye - nad-tsat'] - twelve
13 - тринадцать - [tree-nad-tsat'] - thirteen
14 - четырнадцать- [che-ti-r-nad-tsat'] - fourteen
15 - пятнадцать - [p'yat-nad-tsat'] - fifteen
16 - шестнадцать - [shest'-nad-tast'] - sixteen
17 - семнадцать - [sem-nad-tasat'] - seventeen
18 - восемнадцать - [vosem-nad-tasat'] - eighteen
19 - девятнадцать - [dev-yat'-nad-tsat'] - nineteen
Phrases with new vocabulary
Let's practice learned numbers! What time is it now? It is 15 o'clock! Here are couple phrases which you can hear when someone asks about time. The most polite and proper one is: "Который час?" There is a chance that native speakers would not use it that often. We mostly practice incorrect slang versions of it: "Сколько времени?" - how much time. and the linguist nightmare: "Сколько время?" - which is the most common phrase.
"How much time is it now": Сколько сейчас время?
"Now is... hours": Сейчас... часов.

1 - Когда пойдём в банк? - [kogdah mi poi-dyoum v bank] - When are we going to the bank?
2 - Мы пойдем в банк через 15 минут. - [mi poi-dyoum v bank che-rez pyat-nad-tsat' minus ] - We will go to the bank in 15 minutes.
3 - Когда автобус №8? - [kog-dah avto-bus no-m-yer vo-sem' ] - When is a bus number 8 coming?
4 - В 15 часов. - [v pyat-nad-tsat' chasov] - At 3 o'clock. (At 15 hours)
